On behalf of our client, a global leader in digital experience management software that combines content management, commerce and customer insights, part of Fortune 500, we are currently looking for an inspirational Development Manager, to join its software development team in Athens.

 

A day in the life of a Development Manager

As a Development Manager, you will be the leader of the team Portal Experience Engineering Team and you are responsible for both the people and the work delivered. You hire, onboard, develop and reward members of the team. You serve as the team's coach, ensuring that the team members work together in the most effective manner possible, removing impediments to progress, facilitating meetings and discussions, and perform typical project management duties such as planning, issue resolution, tracking progress and reporting.
 

Your day-to-day

  • Lead, manage, attract, inspire and mentor technology talent while aligning strengths to organizational goals.
  • Sets attainable goals to team members to complete the project on time
  • Provide oversight to ensure adequate focus on stability, scalability, performance, and quality during design and development decisions.
  • Implement agile management ideals by facilitating exercises such as sprint planning and team-leading standups in collaboration with Product. Build and influence a culture of ownership, delivery, and autonomy, within your team and across your department.
  • Ensure proper communication concerning changes in established milestones or challenges that may affect the outcome of a project's completion date.

     

    What you will need

  • More than 3 years of experience managing software development teams
  • Previous experience as a software engineer
  • A willingness to lead from the front and be ready to roll up your sleeves to help your team in any way.
  • An ability to lead and make decisions even with the most ambiguous problems defining the way forward.
  • Knowing how to build teams that focus on impact, technical excellence and transparency.
  • Proven excellence in communication skills. With an ability to get your message to your teams and across the organization you communicate transparently and effectively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
