On behalf of our client, is a UK leading financial technology business offering a wide range of personal finance options, we are currently looking for a self-driven Head of Engineering who will work either remotely or will relocate to Athens-Greece.

Role Summary

The Head of Engineering is an ambitious and pragmatic individual who will lead and grow our technical team. You’ll be a supportive and passionate coach and your focus will be to help of them with their personal and professional development by guiding them and celebrating their successes.  You will build our digital capabilities to drive a profitable business.

You will help shape and execute the strategy to build reliable, efficient, and scalable based on serverless technologies hosted in AWS.

You will help lead the organization through change, evolution, and sustained growth. You will work lead a full stack development team consisting of like-minded back-end developers, front-end developers, testers focused on delivering agreed OKRS and company-aligned goals. 

Your day-to-day

• Lead, inspire and motivate the engineering team to be ambitious and successful
• Nurture and grow a great engineering culture, with innovation and delivery at its heart
• Partner with the product team to enable their vision through technology
• Coach, support, and develop the talent in the engineering team through 1:1’s and continuous feedback
• Embed and continuously improve agile ways of working and a DevOps culture.
• Building and rolling out the technical framework
• Working with technical leads and product owners to deliver technical solutions

What you will need

• Bachelor's/Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical discipline
• Currently managing/overseeing a successful technical team and looking for that next step
• Passionate about developing technical approaches and implementing technical solutions
• Knowledgeable in all things techy, database architecture, system architecture, security, data analysis, artificial intelligence, programming, and software design
• Able to adapt to your approach and add value to our team
• Experience in developing and running services in AWS.
• Strong technical experience of working with .Net/C#, SQL Server
• Experience in serverless technologies, including NodeJS/Lambda
